Wae Rebo, Indonesia is a small village known for its thatched-roof conical houses (Mbaru Niang) made of worok wood and bamboo, held together with traditional craftsmanship.

Linda will travel in Southeast Asia to explore how architects are responding to diverse ecosystems. She will focus on materials and construction techniques, and consider how these have been adapted over time to fit the needs of local communities. Linda is a student at the University of California Santa Barbara in History of Art and Architecture.
