Mark Ferguson Joins Board of Sir John Soane’s Museum Foundation

New York, NY — The Sir John Soane’s Museum Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Ferguson to its Board of Directors. As co-founder and principal of Ferguson & Shamamian Architects, Mr. Ferguson is widely recognized as one of the leading classical architects practicing today. His work, which spans private residences and historic properties in the United States and abroad, reflects a rigorous commitment to tradition, proportion, and craftsmanship, values that are deeply aligned with the mission of the Foundation.

Ferguson & Shamamian Architects is internationally known for its leadership in the revival and reinterpretation of classical and traditional architecture. Under Mr. Ferguson’s guidance, the firm has realized award-winning residential projects across the country and in several English-speaking countries abroad, collaborating with renowned interior designers, landscape designers, artisans, and conservation specialists. The firm’s work has been featured extensively in publications and monographs that are considered essential references in the field of contemporary classical practice.

In addition to his architectural practice, Mr. Ferguson serves as Dean of the School of Architecture and Planning at The Catholic University of America, one of the few design programs in the nation dedicated to the study of classical architecture. He also teaches design and professional practice and occasionally lectures on the firm’s work.

“We are delighted to welcome Mark to the Board,” said Paul L. Whalen, Chair of the Sir John Soane’s Museum Foundation Board. “His architectural leadership, teaching, and commitment to excellence in design bring an invaluable perspective to the Foundation. We look forward to the insight and experience he will contribute.”

With Mark Ferguson’s appointment, the Foundation continues to strengthen its leadership as it advances its mission to expand engagement with Sir John Soane’s legacy in the United States and around the world.
