Trip Description
Traveling in the footsteps of Sir John Soane, we will be exploring along the eastern coast of the island of Sicily and seeing the many wonders of Modica, Noto, Syracuse, and Taormina – plus Catania and Etna as Soane did. After four nights staying in Syracuse, we’ll then take a fast ferry to reach the island of Malta. Here we start our explorations in Malta’s Golden Capital of Valletta… known as such for the beautiful honey colored stone. Malta was the furthest south that Soane traveled in May 1780 at the end of his two-year grand tour.
