Sir John Soane’s Museum Foundation invites you to join us in Ireland for an exclusive travel program exploring the architecture, collections, gardens, and country houses of Ireland. Join us for a week in Dublin and the Irish countryside, led by Robert O’Byrne, the distinguished Irish aesthete, author, and curator. Together, we will experience exceptional houses, collections, gardens, and special visits, offering an insider’s view of Ireland’s rich architectural and cultural heritage.
Tour Highlights
- Ballyfin – Spend two nights at one of Ireland’s most extraordinary country houses, a magnificent Regency mansion surrounded by an exceptional historic landscape, with time to experience its remarkable interiors, art, and gardens.
- National Gallery of Ireland – A private evening visit led by Director Caroline Campbell, followed by drinks and dinner in the Gallery’s townhouse.
- Trinity College & the Provost’s House – Explore the Old Library and the celebrated Book of Kells, with a possible private visit to the Palladian Provost’s House.
- Casino at Marino – Visit Sir William Chambers’s extraordinary 18th-century miniature masterpiece, one of the great jewels of European Neoclassical architecture.
- Newbridge House – Discover the only house in Ireland designed by James Gibbs, with its remarkable collection of furniture and paintings preserved within its Georgian interiors.
- Russborough House & Emo Court – Visit two exceptional Irish country houses: Richard Castle’s Palladian Russborough and James Gandon’s Neoclassical Emo Court.
- Birr Castle & Gardens – Explore the historic home of the Parsons family, Earls of Rosse, with its extraordinary collections and celebrated gardens.
